In order to better accommodate the CCAP Synod of Zambia’s growing administration staff, departments, and church activities, the synod is developing a synod office complex on a 5-acre plot of land in Lusaka. This complex, centrally located in the capital, provides easy access to the synod office not only for church members but also guests and partners. The complex consists of the newly constructed synod office building, the Chunga Chicken Farm, the manse (pastor’s house) that houses the General Secretary of the CCAP Synod of Zambia and his family, and farmland for growing maize and other crops.
Currently, construction is underway for rental shops next to the synod office building, which will generate income specifically for the CCAP Synod of Zambia’s Community School Department and HIV/AIDS Department. Planning is also underway for construction of the Kapakila Chama Training Center, which will provide vocational training to female ex-convicts. In the future, the church plans on constructing a guesthouse as well as a multi purpose hall on the property for income generation.
Status: The CCAP Synod of Zambia is actively seeking further financial assistance that would go toward the completion of the synod office complex. The synod does currently receive financial assistance from its partners, including the Presbyterian Church of Ireland, Presbyterian Church of Australia, and Presbyterian Church USA.
