In order for the church to become self-sustaining, the CCAP Synod of Zambia established the Chunga Chicken Farm in Lusaka. Located on the synod office complex, the Chunga Chicken Farm operates with around 1,000 birds with the help of a hired poultry hand who ensures that the chickens remain healthy. The farm financially supports office administration and activity costs, including vehicle maintenance, office supplies, and cleaning staff.
Eventually, the synod would like to expand this income-generating activity in order to meet the financial demands of a growing church. For example, the synod would like to acquire an incubator in order to hatch their own eggs and acquire more chickens to develop the farm. In the future, the synod would like to raise different livestock in addition to chickens, including pigs and quails.
Status: The CCAP Synod of Zambia is currently looking for financial support in order to expand the Chunga Chicken Farm.
